Geoghegan Jackson: Supporting the Breast Cancer Campaign
The
Lomax, 34 Cumberland Street

Donations on the door
Geoghegan Jackson are delighted to be supporting the Breast Cancer Campaign
by staging a fundraising gig at the Lomax on June 7th. Doors open at 7pm,
with support to be announced. Entrance is free – but donations (£4.00
waged/£2.00 unwaged) are encouraged.
Geoghegan Jackson are an exciting acoustic duo based in Liverpool, UK,
playing original indie/folk music and gigging widely (recently supporting
Hazel O’Connor in both Liverpool and Chester). With Susie Geoghegan
on guitar and Helen Jackson on vocals, and with influences including John
Martyn, Nick Cave and Patti Smith, they’ve been compared to “The
Pixies - unplugged”, with hauntingly hypnotic soundscapes of subterranean
longings. Their EP, “Parlour in the Sun” was described by
Liverpool’s influential Probe Records as “a great debut five-tracker
from a local pop/folk duo. Very early 70s – Margo Guryan, Susan
Christie - Bacharach even!”
