LEAF, Bold Street, Liverpool
Silly Boy Productions presents a unique one man show by Hal Lever...
well, we say one man but watch out for Hal2!! He'll pop up during the
show.
Hal Lever shouldn’t be alive today.
After a devastating car accident in 1970 he was in a coma for twenty
days. When he regained consciousness he was unable to talk, walk or use
his hands and he had completely lost his memory. Far from being afraid
to speak to anyone, now you can’t shut him up!
He spent nine months initially recovering from his injuries, including
seven months in Winwick Psychiatric Hospital because there was nowhere
else for him to recover – he needed 100% rest. When at last he was
discharged he was stigmatised, faced prejudice and was excluded from society
in many ways simply because of his slurred speech.
Yet here he is 42 years later talking about his experience. He has written
an autobiography, which sold over 11,800 copies, he won Best Animated
Short Film at the Sefton Film festival 2005 and has travelled extensively
around the world. In a moving, original and often amusing account of a
victim who refused to be a victim.
Hal brings his unique one man stage play to LEAF on Bold Street, Monday
November 26th, 7:30pm doors.
Tickets are free from
