Interview with Max Rubin and Simon Hedger of LodestarBy Laura Naylor - 12/7/2011 When I met Max and Simon my main concern was whether I’d be a good interviewer, granted I made a few slip-ups but these proved the least of my worries when the dictaphone decided it would stop working mid interview… Thankfully, both the Artistic Director and Producer of The Liverpool Shakespeare Festival were very patient. I was pleased that at least the origins of “Come and have a go…” were recorded but at this point the dictaphone had had enough. I then asked if there was any link between Lodestar and Liverpool Network Theatre who are putting on Twelfth Night in the Parks this year. Although there is no direct collaboration between the two groups, a few members of Network were at Lodestar’s workshops so they feel greatly encouraged that they are stirring up other like-minded people to see theatre in a new light and not be restricted to the confines of a formal theatre space.
Just in case I wasn’t able to get my excitement across in the recording, “Come and have a go” has particularly caught my attention this year and the very concept, I believe is reason enough to check it out. Sorry Comments Closed |
