The Old Dark House

The Play "The Old Dark House" is adapted from the 1932 American horror film directed by James Whale and starring Boris Karloff (both of Frankenstein fame).

The play will be performed at two unique venues over four nights. The first and second performance will be at St. Dunstans Church, Earl Rd. The following two at the Williamson Tunnels. We decided upon these locations because we were looking for a venue that would create the right atmosphere for the play. We wanted somewhere the audience felt like they were entering "The Old Dark House" itself. We felt that traditional Theatres would not do this. We also wanted to bring theatre to venues that might not otherwise attract a theatre audience.

The Play follows a newly wed couple who are forced to seek shelter in "The Old Dark House" while honeymooning in the middle of the Welsh Countryside. The house is not what it seems. The new husband has to find a new Hero from within himself. Those who are friendly may not turn out to be so. The Play is dark and sinister, with touches of light hearted moments.
