Liverpool:
Blood, Sweat and Tears
Microzine, Bold Street
2nd-28th February 2007

This unusual exhibition is comprised of shirts worn by Liverpool FC players
from the trophy winning period 2001-2006, in which they appeared in eleven
cup finals and triumphed in nine of them. None of the shirts were available
to the general public before they came to Microzine.
Each of the shirts is presented on a patented body form frame accompanied
with match details and an action photograph from the particular game.
The most notable shirt is the one used in the spellbinding European Champions
Final against AC Milan in 2005, which Liverpool won on penalties after
extra time.
Instead of bizarrely exhibiting the shirt worn by West Ham in their extra-time
defeat against Liverpool in the 2006 FA Cup Final, it would have been
more appropriate, given the memorable nature of the match in Istanbul,
to have instead exhibited a shirt worn by the Italians.
The other shirts were used in three league cup finals (of which Liverpool
won two); two FA cup finals (with the Reds successful on both occasions);
a UEFA final (which Liverpool won against Alaves after extra-time); two
UEFA Super Cups (which the team won twice); a FIFA Club World Championship
Final (which Liverpool lost against Sao Paulo); and a Charity Shield game
(in which they defeated their old rivals Manchester United).
Bids for the collection will be accepted during the exhibition at Microzine,
which runs until 28th February.
