Artinliverpool.com is a new online resource for the Liverpool art scene. The website was set up last Autumn by Ian Jackson to provide up-to-date listings of all the Liverpool art galleries. Since then, Ian has added a directory of local artists, a comprehensive links page to arts organisations, groups and companies and a weblog.
"I'm on a mission", says Ian, "to promote Liverpool artists and galleries as much as I can."

The blog page has reviews of exhibitions as well as news and features of interest to local art lovers. This follows on from the successful biennial blog that Ian ran throughout the ten week event in 2004.

The artists directory is a list of Liverpool based artists, sculptors, photographers, illustrators etc. with their contacts details, statements, exhibition news and up to six images of their work. This is a free service, any local artist can email Ian to have their details included.

Ian believes that the artist community here is growing. "I wouldn't use the word 'thriving' just yet, but its getting there. I think there needs to be more communication and organisation. Hopefully artinliverpool.com will go some way to providing that."
