Do you feel alienated by the Council's approach to 2008? Well one organisation
in particular has decided to literally take the law into their own hands.
They plan to decorate the city with posters that truly represent what
culture means to people by printing out stories and pictures from people
who contact them directly.
"We do not intend to vandalise or break any law that some people
see as fair," a spokesperson said. "This is why we have decided
to target areas that are already covered in posters that have nothing
to do with Liverpool."
They plan to 'brighten up the city', by showing your words or artwork
across the city, designed as large posters and 'illegally' flyposting
them on designated areas where adverts for national tours or totally commercial
adverts appear.
"All we are pointing out is that adverts for large corporations
cannot be seen as cultural whereas the work of those who live in the city
is. That's why we will be covering the posters of anyone who is just advertising
large national events in spots we were told were allocated for us. This
is not intended to cause trouble, well maybe a little bit."
If you would like to have a poster of your words or anything else printed,
and then posted up you can contact .
We would, however, like to point out that flyposting is illegal for some
people in this city and this organisation is not linked to Nerve or any
other group whose views are expressed within this article.
