Artist Profile - Aidan Young
My work is based around an 'anachronism'. The idea is to use two subject matters from different time periods and let them meet for an instant. The majority of my work is an attack on politics, famous moments in both British and American History since the Millennium. Inspired by using old, famous masters and their works, my intention is to make the viewer 'double take' when they see my work. By making changes, small and subtle, and using Photoshop - a modern creative tool - I hope to shock, amuse and make the audience think outside the box and past what the media tells them to.
Previous exhibitions include Microzine on Bold Street and Re- Gen08 with John Moores. My artwork has also featured on several websites and has also been published in various magazines.
