Upstairs at the View Two Gallery was the creative output of Carl
Fletcher on display. Collages, 3D sculpture, 3D graffiti and paintings
filled four walls and beyond, it required a well considered overview,
you couldn't simply pop in and try to take it in quickly - there's
just no way! I know because I tried a quick overview before my interview
with Carl. |

John Owen interviews David Peace, the author of the book Red or
Dead which deals with the legendary Bill Shankly's spell as manager
of Liverpool Football Club. In its ambition, scope and narrative
drive it makes The Damned United, and by extension all other football
novels, read like Roy of the Rovers. All of Peace's writing is uncompromising,
but Red or Dead takes that to near pathological levels. |

Bootle Strand, as its known locally. |

The purpose of this article is to help give an assessment of the
employment system on a personal level. The job centre’s aims
are to stop people claiming means tested benefits so therefore they
advertise work for minimum of sixteen hours, but is this cost effective
on the taxpayer in practicality? Do people with Asperger’s
syndrome get justice? Or are they even treated equally? Remember
equal does not mean identical, I will discuss more on that later.

I made a big pan of scouse so spud proud you

of the growing light, the activities of the birds and the massed
green spears of barely opening daffodils - all proclaiming springtime
- it has been colder than at any time in the winter. |

Column by Sandra Gibson which celebrates the persistence of wildlife
in urban conditions.
Our deciduous trees lose their leaves in winter.
There’s a sound economic reason: they need to conserve energy
and minimise any damage caused by bad-ass weather. Cold dry winds
strip moisture from leaves, which have a large surface area, and
diminishing sunlight means decreased efficiency. |
